Giorno Giovanna, Dope One, Dekasettimo and Fugo together in DNA
DNA is the new Neapolitan formation that sees Giorno Giovanna, Dope One, Dekasettimo and Fugo united in the name of Vesuvius to bring rhymes and attitude to a saturated record market. The project, born in 2023 out of mutual respect and esteem, leads to the publication of an album named after the same group.
DNA becomes the name of DNA’s album, out on all digital platforms for KML.
The album boasts a sound carpet that is divided between the classic boom bap of the 90s, golden age and more contemporary sounds. The changes in flow and styles embellish both the moments of rap and the beats in two senses, exploring all the potential of the artists without settling only on the sterile use of a new style, but putting everything back at the service of the concept of true hip hop which drives the whole album.
The producers of the album are Doc Ketamer himself, Bboy Enea, Burbuka and The unknown producer. The album, made up of four songs, has no further collaborations and is presented in the style of a real continuous cypher.
DNA’s album releases rhymes, flows, stylistic games and skills, aiming to highlight the love for one’s city, the Neapolitan origins, the inner strength. In the songs you can hear the personal story of each artist, the flavor of the street and the energy that is channeled into rap.
In DNA the artists often refer to the concept of being “sons of Hip Hop”, focusing on the values of culture and awareness of the expressive power of Hip Hop itself.
The cover, designed by KML, reworks the group’s official logo by transforming the last two letters into Vesuvius and the Gulf of Naples, reinforcing a typically HipHop, Hardcore and underground concept.
The album is released accompanied by the video Madre Napoli directed and edited by Matteo Marchese (BlackDiamond Agency).
